We are a Member Tour of the IGTA and are sanctioned to present Qualifier Tournaments for the IGTA Special National Championship.
The NIT is for all Competitive Golfers who dream of Playing a PGA Tour type Tournament for Large Cash Prizes. You can compete to become the National Champion for your level as this annual Tournament is flighted and utilizes the IGTA handicap controls.
Players DO NOT have to play the IGTA Tour to qualify for this Championship.

2002 NIT Results from Myrtle Beach

The 2002, National Invitational Tournament was held November 8 & 9 at Bay Tree Golf Plantation. We extend our appreciation to all who participated. Congratulations to the winners and to all the players for making this a successful and historic inaugural event. This was a very competitive tournament and a foundation for years to come. The reviews were very positive as the special format worked well for our annual NIT event. With the full year to prepare, 2003 promises to provide a full field as detailed in the NIT plans.

           Have your Local tour contact us if they are not affiliated with the IGTA.

	1. Local Qualifier	Entry Information a) Cost - $35.00 plus green fees b) Players may play only as Qualifier Participant or they may also compete in Local Tour event. c) 25% Qualify for Regionals d) USGA Index or equivalent will be established by the Local Tour e) Qualifying players should prepare to advance as they must have three additional tournament scores before the National Championship Tournament.
	2. Regional Qualifier	September- October a) Cost - $50.00 plus green fees b) Estimated 60-75 players per regional c) Regionals will be flighted with approximately 20% - 25% qualifying for the National Championship Tournament.
	3. National Invitational      Tournament	Late October - November ($50.00 reservation fee) a) Cost - $250.00 includes three tournament rounds plus the Awards Banquet and purse. Note: The total fees for a qualifying player through the National Finals is $480.00. b) NIT anticipates five flights with 25% winning per flight. Most players compete as non-amateurs, however all players should understand the question of amateur status. It has been published that less than 2% of golfers need to be concerned about retaining amateur status. Amateur status is forfeited when a player plays for any cash prize (or award valued over $500) without waiving his right to accept the prize. Amateur status is not affected when a player competes in the NIT qualifiers. He must make a decision to play as a non-amateur to play for money in the National Championship. This choice is made any time a player elects to play for cash prizes, including Calcutta's, etc.

Players may also qualify for the National Championship with a top five finish in an IGTA Tour Tournament.

The IGTA TOUR is a National Tour, with handicaps; offering significant cash prizes and scheduled at some of the finest golf facilities around the country. You may play the Tour or select one or two events that meet your schedule.
